Your thinking of a resource editor, I presume (something along the lines of the one you get with Visual Studio) ?

If you mean a form in which you add buttons and text boxes etc then yeah.

I'm sure that users of BLUE would find it useful IF BLUE can read resource files. From what was discussed at the convention, I dont think it can - at least not without a lot of effort. Have a word with RobK first.

Already in the process of making one, I'm going to test it out with the Free Windows Plugin RobK has released. If all goes well with that then I'll talk with Rob about making one for Blue. Here's a pre-alpha shot:

There's a huge amount of coding behind it. Object Management is a pain in the ass to do so it will be quite a while before I'm finished. Also, I haven't spoken to Rob about it yet so he might not be too happy about it anyway, I hope he is though.

Anyway, the jist of the program is that it will automatically write the code for what you do visually on the screen. Much like Visual Basic, this program will automatically generate the code to add a button if you choose to add a button to the form.

I'm also in need of an icon artist for the toolbars which are currently very blank lol.

By Icon Artist, do you mean, someone who can make pretty pictures in a 8x8 space using only MS Paint?

If so... I'm the man (I Think)

How may i be of service?

Yeah, that generally sums up who I need

I haven't actually gone through and decided which buttons I'll add to the toolbars yet because I'm not quite up to that stage yet. However, if you are up to the job (and thanks a lot if you are), I'll need at least the standard bunch found in most applications: New, Save, Open, Copy, Cut, Paste, Undo and Redo.

Yep, so it'd be great if you could create a couple of those to see how you go, they can be created in anything and look like anything (within reason) and must fit inside a 16x16 block. It'd be greatly appreciated if you could do that because my graphical talents are well below average. I'll also have to go and check what other icons I need sometime.

And here are a couple of variations, compared with the originals above:

Btw, these are all original, i didn't copy a single pixel at all...
Hope This Helped...

I tried something similar when blue gui first came out. However my biggest prob was the odd way of scaling things so I gave up

Hmm, I haven't come to that part of the project yet so if you're right it might be one big hurdle. I'll have to see if there's a workaround, damn, I hope there is.

All toolbars can be resized, hidden and shrunk.

Sure thing, I'll probably need some more as I get further in but that may not be for a while as there's heaps of coding that needs doing.

I actually made my editor in DB. The user could drag out a box, but when it came to create the button, I think the units changed (proably to do with twips/pixels) and when you resized the window, your button would stay the same :/

I remember I made a similar prog to this in VB6 for use as a GUI tool. It involved alot of api hacking i tell you to make resizeable controls!
