***UPDATE*** Just tested in x9 and they work right out of the box in x9 as well.

Greetings,

I have 12 animated decals for you all today. This one is a fireworks pack. Drag the contents of the download into your x10 folder and they are ready to go.

These are free for all to use under any set of circumstances. You may use them in any project commercial or otherwise and I do not require any credit though of course it is nice. You may absolutely redistribute them, repost them, host them elsewhere, etc. but do not sell them or pass them off as your own (why would you anyway...they ain't that great).

I use a naming convention that helps me to keep my own stuff organized but you are more than welcome to rename them to fit your own organizational needs.

These screenies don't really do 'em justice as it is hard to screen cap an animated decal.

***UPDATE*** I've also added a small sparks decal pack per request:

Hope you enjoy them and are able to put them to good use! It would be really cool to see them in someone's game.

Cheers!

LOL...this just reminded me of a project I was working on a while back where the principal investigator was absolutely adamant that we have a fireworks display at the end of the simulation to let the kids know they had done well. We kinda chuckled about it at the time but now that you put it in the context of Star Wars....well maybe she was right!!

@MichealX, I've uploaded a pack of 4 sparks. I made them at scale=50, and set them a bit lower than the fireworks (but all that can be adjusted). I used decal.fpi on them so they loop right now (mostly so they are easy to check out). Feel free to edit them at will and let me know if this works for you. Right now it's a bit hard for me to do seamless looping effects so these fade in and fade out.

I've updated the first post but here is the link again:

Thanks! And please know that it is fully functional in x9. I tested it shortly after making this thread and then updated the first post. Maybe I should've posted in the models and media forum but we've been having a lot of fun in x10 forum lately.

Hope you enjoy it!

Glad to know it's appreciated.
I've released a lot of other stuff since then,you might want to look at the 2011 thread if you haven't already.

Now back on topic,I tried the fireworks decals in a custom particle editor and they look nice.When I get a chance , I'll run some tests in my engine and post a screen or two if that's fine with you srealist?

Here's a very basic example,I didn't bother to add the particles to my RPG project,where they would be a better fit,but I did do this:

Nothing like killing zombies and watching some colorful fireworks

I wish I would have had the time to actually make a decent level and place them there,but I hope you like the result anyway.

Absolutely. I must note that due to the horrible screen recorder I use,the sound and framerate is choppy,but you still get the idea.

I think I went on a killing spree hehe.

@Gencheff

Yeh all are welcome here, we are a nice bunch. The decals look super nice in the editor as well as in your engine.

@Everyone

Will be interesting to see what else pops up here over the next few weeks.

Woah that's awesome! So cool to see them in use and in the context of a zombie killing spree. Lol..bad@ss!

This engine you are working on, is this something you plan on making accessible to other folks?

BTW, let me know if you want/need any other decals. Same goes for all y'all.

That does look awesome Gencheff. The rain is subtle but helps it a lot.
