WebOS isn't toast, only the HP devices which run it.

WebOS Not Dead

There you go, it's not dead it will be updated.

So, anyone fancy writing games to run on a printer display? Weirder things have happened.

I wonder why TGC is so much interested in supporting these B-side OSes, when Android, Windows phone and WebGL are the big things at the moment.... and agk does not support those for now

It's down to ease of implementation that's all. Android and Windows Mobile are very different from iOS. Meego, and Bada have more in common with iOS or Windows/ Mac than you might realise.

I snagged one of the HP touchpads this weekend on clearance for $100, so did a lot of people. Depending how much work it is to incorporate into the AppGameKit, I can tell you there are going to be a few hundred thousand people very interested in more apps for these devices because nobody else will be supporting them, why shouldn't it be us?
I wouldn't put it ahead of Android and WinMo but if after that WebOS could be supported (and have the ability to distribute via homebrew) I think there would still be a decent market.

So what's the point of supporting something that doesn't run on any hardware?

You might as well add support for vic 20.

We where going to do Android next, but now you mention it I think shifting our energies to a few Commodore platforms would be great fun Fear not, Android and WebGL are firmly in our sights!

I drink tea, and in my spare time I write software.

I wonder how great specialists are working at TGC that they've mastered Java (for Android), Objective C (For iOS) and (not that different) Native C++ for MeeGo & Bada. Did i forget about something?

So, respect. I like C++ and the same way i hate Java
