I think the 3d engine resembles the LithTech engine a little.... which commercial engine is it most like?

Also, I dont know if its the fact that ive only got DX 9, but has anyone noticed that, when rendering at speed, the engine has a little glitch where you can see a diagonal break in the rendering of the screen? Its extremely fast but noticable.

it's a Vsync problem, most likely. And people often turn it off, for the speed. Vsync limits the max fps rates, and that's not a good thing when it comes to games.

no, I don't think it resembles littech at all, as it used a lot of "detail textures" and evinroment effects that look different in DBpro. Of course you could prolly make it look the same, but still.. Play any pure D3D and you'll see the difference.

Keyboard not detected. Press F1 to continue.

The places I noticed it were :

a) The original Obsidian tech demo by GCEclipse

b) The physics carpet demo by PolyVector

drivers problem moonshine... your card isn't rendering to the rect surface properly.
this could be caused by you monitor as well as it is incapable of keeping up with the cards speed of rendering - but that only tend to happen on ancient models (5years+)

i'd say to update your cards drivers, make sure you have no FSAA running or AF
