Im trying to do the basics of a multiplayer game and get two computers on LAN to communicate through the IPX protocol but im running into problems..

When ive created a net game on one computer and perform the net sessions checklist on the other it never picks up anything. To test the session exists i ran the same checklist on the computer running the game and the checklist quantity is 0, but then if the program will detect its own local net game.

Ive confused myself posting so i can clarify but i really need some help....

btw the program wont run unless it uses IPX and i left the address variable in SET NET CONNECTION empty

basically you're not gnona figure out net coding on your own, I highly recommend copying a tutorial and editing the code to your need.

The network commands arn't very logical and practically impossible to understand just from the help.

look in the help in home > techinical documents > mulitplayer secrets.

Ianm has a codebase entry for a simple chat program.
I made a simple program that connects to the localhost and when you run it twice rotates a cube in both windows controlled by the arrowkeys. see attached source.

Perhaps try using tcp/ip insted of ipx?

My code checks first if a LAN connection is available so it might work with your IPX.

Now for my question: Does send net message integer have a guarantee packet automatically or does it have none?I know that memblocks do.
