I'm trying to put a skysphere in my game, but it will not show. I've tried shrinking the skysphere, increasing camera range, and everything else mentioned in the forum posts, but no matter what the skysphere is always black, no color at all. I can view them in darkMatter browser just fine, though.

Please help, I have no idea what to do now.

Sorry, here's the code

for scale object I've used sizes from 40 to 4000. The Media\Sky folder contains all the supporting files for cm.X that came in darkMatter.

have you made the sky sphere yourself?
if you did you maybe just made a regular sphere and textured it? This will only be visible from the outside of the sphere, so useless as a sky sphere. All you need to do is re scale the sphere in the 3d editor you used to x -1, y -1,z-1 , this flips the shere inside out.
also try
or set your own far range.

set object cull ObjNum, 0

-In.Dev.X: A unique heavy story based shoot'em ~35%
-CoreFleet: An underground commander unit based RTS ~15%
-TailsVSEggman: An Sonic themed RTS under development for idea presentation to Sega ~15%

I'm just using skyspheres from darkMatter, I didn't make my own. I went ahead and tried scaling it with negative numbers and using set object cull, but that didn't work either. I think something other than my code is wrong now, though--I loaded up one of the example programs that has a sky sphere and that one wouldn't show up either.

Do you know the size of the object?

If not you can get the size of the object using object size.

The object might be too small or too large, or just not positioned correctly.

Once you have adjusted the position, and size of the object, and the position, and range of the camera you should be able to see the object.

It is also a rare possibility that the object has some weird offset values making the object's position incorrect.
I wouldn't know how to fix that, other then getting a different object.

You could always try creating your own sphere.

Hope that helps.

Honestly I would rather use a sky cube, cause they use less polygons.
My opinion.

And if the Object Size command doesn't help you can always use the Object Size X, Object Size Y, and Object Size Z commands.

Worst case you can make your game without a background.
You could even make everything indoors.

Sometimes you just have to be a little flexible when making a game.

Hopefully you will get your sky working somehow. Good luck.

A cheap and simple technique for an instant Skysphere uses a negative number for your (sky) object size:

Thanks Derek, that worked perfectly, I never would have thought of that either.
