Would anyone be willing to describe the proper syntax for talkrandom? I'm trying to use it in a behavior .fpi I threw together, but the character just seems to say the same thing rather than going through the subsequent .wav's I have lined up for it to use.

Did you follow the syntax describe in my Complete Script Synax list? The files have to be named in a specific way.

Can you post your script too? It's hard to suggest something unless you show us what you've already tried.

There's the script. I didn't use all 9 possible .wav files. Could that be the problem? I only have 3 lined up for it.

Ok looking at the source it seems to suggest the files need to be numbered from 2 to 9 and not 1 to 9, but apart from that there is no need to have 9 files.

To test the files individually try talkordered= or talk=

Tried that. It's still only playing 1 of the 3 .wav files.

What about "talk", have you tried a script such as:

just to check that all files can be played?

All the .wav's work fine. You did give me an idea, though. Instead of having it play randomly, I'm setting it up like you have in that snippet of code. Instead of talkrandom or talkordered, I'll just use talk=blah/blah/blah.wav 3 times with different states to make it seem like they say something different each time you walk up to them. So thanks for that!

I'm glad you see a work around, but we really should get to the bottom of why these commands are not working as they should. I'll try and do some testing.

In that case, I'll keep fiddling with it as well and post back if I find anything out.
