Newcomers DBPro Corner / Racing Game in 3D?

if I was going make Formla 1 Racing game...

How do I make the track? I guess I need learn 3D Modelings to do the track then import to Darkbasic pro?

hi noob programmer.
yep, thats one way of making the track and its the way you'll get the nicest track with the best terrain.
but in the short term...

You could try creating a plane with a picture of you're track on it. not nearly as nice but it will allow you to implement a track using a drawing and you can get your game mechanics worked out.

A little friendly advice. Learning to model and making a textured 3D track (you'll need cars and stuff too) and then programming a game with it and including some sort of physics engine all would seem to be a bit overwhelming for someone that is fairly new. I would suggest that you learn the basics of the language and make some easier games, and then work up to a 3D Formula1 racing game.

I am working on a game that has racing in it. It is hard work getting the physics right and lining up roads on the terrain. Its a matter of time, not just skill however.

If you are determined to get your F1 racing game done then I'd advise that you learn the basics of DBPRO here and here first. Try to memorize the Core, Basic2D and Basic3D section of the help files. After that you will have a good idea of how to program your game without much questions; initially.

Then take a look into Sparkys Collision which will assist you with collision for the driving. DarkPhysics vehicle engine is OK as well, if you like using DarkPhysics.

As for modelling, it is down to you what you want to use; I use Blender, and this page contains great video tutorials, and my DirectX export guide will help you get the models into DBPRO.
