cheers everyone & hello again,

I havent been in this forum for a little while, say ages ago.

I am considering to buy X10 for a small micro-level games project that I want to start using my own music & sound-design. for this purpose I am considerung to buy X10. I need those DX10 shaders.

however, in order to prepare my Win 7 64 Bit system to be able to run it I tried to get rid of DX11 since the official page with the system requirements for X10 tells me to do so ("suggest revert to Directx 10.1").

I failed even with deleting the directx entry in the registry as starting DXDIAG shows me a clear "Direct X11" installed. also installed Direct X 10.1 SDK on the same computer.

I fear that Win 7 came with that DX11 and sticks to it. is this correct?

what did I miss and what can I do?

thanx in advance!

You shouldn't need to un-install DX11. I've got X11 and X10.1 and can run FPSC X10 just fine.

I have both as well. I think the problem is only when you have DX11 but not 10.1. Having both should not be an issue.

thanx, guys...

ok, I will give it a try then. the SDK for 10.1 did install something on top of DX11, but then I got nervous and downloaded the actual DirectX runtime and the installer told me that there the system is fully actual and refused to update...

fingers crossed.

When I first obtained X10 I only had the DX11 sdk installed, it worked and ran fine, test games and build games. But now I aldo installed DX10.1 sdk, still works fine.

DX11 cannot be uninstalled as it a part of the OS. But that should never be a problem
