Noticed a lot of todays games have their own 3d format to suit their engines.... I'd like to create what is effectively an EXACT copy of an .x file, so I can have the bone/mesh deform capability etc, but store it as something else so it cant be tampered with. Any way of doing this? In Pro?

if you want it an EXACT copy of an .x file... you could just rename the extention... but then all someone would have to do is rename it back to a .x

another way (which im not familiar with) open the file (.x) with DB, then save all the information using different type of structure... dont know how to read a .x file, but you could find out information from microsoft's website, if that is something that you would want to do...

but loading it into DB, you would have to make code something to read your format and convert it to x format, so DB could understand it
