Newcomers DBPro Corner / Small Question re Input Keys

I want to record the result of an input key only once each time its pressed, ie, if the key is held down a bit longer, it only records 1 press until it is released and pressed again.

At the moment I am using wait 1000 as a temporary measure but wonder if there is a proper solution?

the function do_stuff() will only be done once when the 'w' key is pressed and it must be released before being pressed again.
