8.0 or higher??? Perhaps for DarkBasic not DarkBasic Pro AFAIK.

I use Directx 9.0c August 2007 (Version: DX1057)
Note: Even though the release date is in June of 2007, it's referred to as August 2007.

I can possibly see the latest working. I didn't think so, but If you truly uninstalled any and all old versions... and then only installed DirectX11, and say it works then I have to believe you. Are you sure you didn't/don't have 9.0c sdk running along side of it??? which is quite normal.

I have seen numerous posts on other boards with people having windows 7 directx11 and having to install 9.0c for older games to play, never mind dev'ing.

------------

Regardless, I can't see how 8.0 would work for dbpro.

I generally only install the newer run-time directX versions. As far as the SDK and redistributable I stick with August 2007 DirectX 9.0c.

You can search for the missing files manually. Not sure all the one's you are missing. I provided a link to the entire directX 9.0c August 2007 in my first post though....

I didn't uninstall anything. I just installed the latest DX update over the top of everything else. The typical error I come across is somerandomdll.dll cannot be fournd. Installing the latest dx version over the top of the current version usually fixes this. Not once has this failed me and I've done it on XP, vista and 7. As for having the SDK along side it, I haven't got it installed on my main pc and certainly haven't installed it on every computer I've tested a DBP program on. I'm not that patient.

@Omnomer: best way to correct mia dx dlls is to download and re-install the latest version of dx9 which can be found on microsoft's website. Your download should be quite a few mb large. If your mia file is just "d3dx9_nn.dll" where nn is a number (usually 31) then try downloading just this file as this error often occurs. For some reason, the dx that comes with windows that include dx9 seems to be a compact/incomplete version. If you need help installing it, feel free to ask.
