Hi there! This is a problem I've been having for several years and im unsure how to fix it. You have a decent looking PNG file and when you bring it into FPSC as a hug that appears, called by an entity or trigger zone, the quality isn't very good. This is frustrating because with text each pixel is important. Is there a reason why the quality is reduced or are the HUDS being in some way squished?

It all depends. I have had problems like that before, but not just with PNG images. In test games, 1024x768 works best, but sometimes it just doesn't load right I guess. What fixes it for me is somehow updating the HUD. I do it with a variable.

Hope this answers your question,

Thanks i shall give that a try. I also haven't yet played around with screen resolutions yet that actually may be my issue. I'm probably using too narrow a viewport. Thanks! Also I'll try the updating of the Hud as well

Also quick question,

I'm using HUDs as a way to convey messaging and interactions with text. Is there away to prevent the HUD from scrolling up and fading? is there any immediate way to make them disappear?

The command "hudunshow=X" instead of "hudfadeout=X" will fix that.

Happy to help,

Seems to more than just disappear, can't see it appear at all. Though its most likely something im doing wrong in my scripting.

try making your image 1024x768 placed where you want it on screen and then put the x and y on 50 each. hope that helps

If you want a better quality image to load, instead of using, 'hudimage=C:\Program Files\.........blah blah'

Replace the 'hudimage' bit with 'hudimagefine'. This will load in a higher resolution image.

Hope this answers your question.
