First I wanted to give away the source code away for free but a remark from Lee Bamber made me consider to try to get it to the Apple AppStore.

Quote: "With a decent artist by your side, your game could EASILY make it into any of the mobile app stores, and memory games are very popular! Even if you gave 'this' version away for free, you own the code so there is nothing stopping you adding some drop dead gorgeous graphics and trying your luck on the App Store - you never know if you're the guy who makes that next ten million for an app that took three days to write It happens quite often!!"

And lucky me a board member David Gervais volunteered and the end result was amazing.
THANKS David.

I found the music on another board members webpage and I also want to send my thanks to him.

Well back to the game.

Memory Wars is a memory game for kids and young minds.
The object of the game is to find two matching icons.
Every time you find a matching pair you get points.
Play against another player or play against the iPad.
Bare in mind that the iPad is not a very strong opponent.

Se it at the AppStore

Am I famous yet? LoL

Gratz on getting the game published in the App Store. I installed iTunes to be able to see where the app is, but the only way I could find it was through a specific search. I hope your games gets put on the 'top games'. Because when I showed all and sorted by date your game did not appear.

Good luck, and let's hope you get millions of downloads for Christmas.

Cheers!

@David

I think the game must first have a LOT of downloads before it get to the top of the list.

I found it based on release date, but way way down the list. Its incredible how many Apps get approved every day.

Actualy I think most of the top games on the appstore are put there because of the developers paying money to apple. For example 2 days after a new version of fruit ninja was released it had allready got top downloaded game

I allso heard that the only two games in the appstore that hadn't payed apple where Ravensword and an other game by the same company. May just have been rumors though...

Thats a new one if its true... Be interested to see how much that would be! We released a game some 6 months ago and there was no option to pay or influence how you appeared on the top games, I believe it is all to do with downloads...

The only other way is if the apple tester thought your game was worthy enough of being featured, if so, you'd appear on the 'featured' list...

Trisect Development, if you haven't already found one, Applyzer is a good site for reviewing your app ranking. It shows you where you are ranked in the top 1000 for each applicable category and for each country, best of all, its free...

There's no way to pay Apple to get to the top hit list!

What you can do is pay people to mass download your game from different itunes accounts!

Or use a promo company...
The worst thing you've done is put it up at $1.99
This pretty much guarantees it won't get more than a handful of downloads.

Unless it's niche or AAA, then you really must price point at $0.99

The consumer these days expects a pretty good game for $0.99 as well.

If you get some downloads and people actualy play it, you may be able to increase the price again since they will tell friends about it (Probably )
