Hi guys !

Have you ever played quake 4? well, in that game the stroggs fade after some seconds dead, i wanted to do that in FPSC because i don't want 20k polys in just corpses around my level but after failing repeatedly, i decided to ask here.

Have anyone an idea of how to do it?

In fpsc there is a script in the destroy directory that fadecorpse I think that might help, im not sure if that was something your looking for as im new to fpsc and the scripting scene. If you cant find the script for some reason here it is.

gsdasd, i think you're not gettin' my idea.

My idea is a dead character go ragdoll and after 3 seconds of beeing laying on the floor, fade.

just use some good old timers, if you don't know how to do that get the syntax list from the top of this board, I think it's stickied

Dear Brunopark09:

Yes, it is very easy do what you want, i am doing right now with my custom characters.

You must use the Dynamics Ragdoll MOD (http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=192026&b=21), however, YOU DON`T NEED TO USE THE MODIFIED FPSC-GAME.EXE that comes with the MOD, just copy the "Files" directory that comes with the MOD, and paste in your FPSC instalation Folder (C:/Program Files/The Game Creators/FPS Creator). When asked to overwrite, click YES.

Now, inside the editor, right click in the character, and in the destroy scripts, click to browse, then go to directory "destroy" inside scriptbank, and click on "ragdollcorpsefade.fpi"

Voilla!

Now you have your character ragdoll, and after some seconds, and when you (the player) is not looking to the enemy, it fades. Like the old game Perfect Dark, for Nintendo 64.

And believe, there is nothing wrong you fade your dead enemies, because even in Top Notch games, like Goldeneye 007 for Nintendo Wii, the enemies fade, they don`t stay there forever.

Never forget, we are creating videogames, there is no need to be 100% like real life, because if it was this way, there will no be a video game.
