There are two documents that helped us to learn the script usage for FPSC when we first came here. Written by Plystire, they will outline the hows and whys. This is a good start point to learn from and get a grasp of scripts. The Official Community Guide(s) also contain scripts that can be used and also help to expand the scripting knowledge. I've attached to this post as a download. They are old, but the basics are the same and most (if not all) of the commands listed still exist in the current version of FPSC. The archive contains two PDF files- FPI Scripting Language, and AI Scripting.

When you review these documents, I'd suggest taking a stroll over to your scriptbank folder and look at some of the scripts. You can look at how they are written and get an understanding to how everything fits together with the "state-condition-action" sequence.

Search for FPI Editpad to help you make scripts. You'll need to understand the basics of FPS scripting, but this program is a great stepping stone to making sure your scripts are correct

to start making scripts, make a level and walk around in it mapping out what you want certain things to do. do you want this door to be melee open? do you want this enemy to not notice you unless you cross his vision path? do you want this enemy to disappear when he rounds a corner?

then go to files/scriptbank/user and create a new text document. go in there and use notepad to script what you want with ched80's syntax list open for reference preferably, and save it as a *.fpi when you're done

I appear to have burst into flames...
