I've done quite a bit of searching through manuals and on the forum already and can't seem to find anything on the topic.

I would like to know if there is a variable or a script that will allow me to adjust the player's camera height?

For example, if I was a mouse in the game, my first person view would be closer to the ground compared to being a person.

Thanks.

not in vanilla, but take a look at some mods, i think every mod that has 3rd-person-view-feature has to change camera-position.

Thanks Maho.

I'm still searching all over the place to see if it's possible.

I know that the Majority of WASP Mod is included in FPSC 1.19. Is there a command in WASP Mod that I can use?

Actually you can make adjustments to the camera in FPSC vanilla V1.19. You can set up Variables using commands, such as setvar=, and use the following things

$CAZ $CAY $CAX - Adjust camera angle around Z Y X
$CPZ $CPY $CPX - Adjust camera Position around Z Y X

Just type up something like this:

:plrwithinzone=1:setvar=$CAZ 90

This will turn the camera sideways along the Z axis of FPSC and has great uses such as pulling a repelling scene:

So if I use

:plrwithinzone=1: setvar=$CPY -15

The camera would be at a lower position for the player? If so, this changes alot of things for fpsc!! Thanks Game x.

Yes, but you don't have to use plrwithinzone if you don't want to. I used it when testing it with trigger zones and came up with a few awesome ideas that when combined with the setposteffect command will create a very amazing scene.

Hi Gamer X,

How would I go about returning the variable in this script back to its default value?

:plrwithinzone=1: setvar=$CPY -15

Thanks,

I am guessing you still have player position/collision to deal with try setting the camera/player on its side and rotating to correct angle would probably require a horizontal offset too to get camera back to central position. I am wondering though if doing this would cause collision problems with player actually being horizontal.
I believe height offset would have to be used with some who want to increase map size by reducing entity scales but maybe you can only drop the camera so far before it will throw the player through the floor as you describe.

Awesome! Its one of those threads.
