Hi there
Since there is a function to bring up a cutscene type thing with the video trigger, is there any way to export a level or get it somehow into 3DS Max so that cutscenes showing part of the level can be created?

It would mean that the video cue could be used to a much greater extent.

Thanks!

fpsc creates a 3d-map out of the levelsegments and statics when building final game. so you should find the levelmap anywhere inside your ready-build gamefolder, but i dont remember how it is called (wrong machine atm).

but someone else around here will tell you/us, i am sure.

EDIT:

ah, got it (quote by REDEYE, thanks buddy):

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=186460&b=21

Quote: "Extracting the static of world of FPSC to use it for other purposes:

FPSC saves a dbo file (for static level only) to use it in the test game build or final game build.
If you test your level and then go to the fpscreator folder (do not click OK to test level just open your file explorer and go to the fpscreator folder) then go to -> files -> levelbank -> testlevel

universephy.dbo is the physics file, which you dont need as you cant import that into your Fragmosoft project.

But what you do need is universe.dbo. This file holds all data for your static world. You can import that file in Fragmosoft. And after that export to .X , .OBJ or any other format.

If you want that your static light maps will be included also, make sure you have the lightmaps folder, which is located in the same folder as universe.dbo, in the same project folder as universe.dbo. So it can be retrieved and applyd by fragmosoft.

If you want that your textures will be included also, make sure you have the universe.dbo parented to the texturebank, so fragmosoft is able to retrieve the textures that universe.dbo asks and apply it.

Cheers,

RedEye."

what do you mean? that it doesnt render segments? of course you wont have single floor/wallsegments in fragmo, the whole level is transformed into 1 file.

if you want to do it the other way, you have to import single fpsc-meshes with texture and build a level in fragmo/blender/3dsmax whatever and blend it together.
then you have to look for rolfy´s projects:

i will try myself today evening.

Dear bro,

Use Directx Ripper,

http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/3DRipperDX.htm

You just run your final game, and use this software to "capture" all the 3D data of your level, including meshes, textures and even shaders!

Then open 3dsmax and import the file that contains the captured 3D data.

Cheers,

007.

I would also appreciate some insight into how to do this. I get the same result as technotdc. DirectX Ripper just crashed with an error when I tried it in the finished game.

THIS IS A SIGNATURE. I swear.
