Hello all,

many people on this forum are offering to make cool scripts and such... for all your awesome games.

the biggest problem is that you always need to search for those, and even can't find it or need to request script that already exists.

So I decided to make a "script share portal" where every FPSC user can post their scripts. it will then appear in the list, and you can search on subject and even on type.

why do I do this >> I want to do something back for the amazing community who helped me starting with game developing and even helped me to a higher level where I'm using LeadWerks and custom script. so this is a kind of gift I want to give you as amazing person.

I have special thanks to:

- Conjured Entertainment
- syko games
- KeithC
- Soviet176
- WWIV Studios
- Red Eye
- Le shorte

Thanks you guys !!

Have some tips to add to the script library ?

And if someone wants to be first beta tester, your always welcome!

DONE LIST:

- setting up user system
- create query on register
- AVATARTS!!!
- Change avatar
- every 5 seconds Database connection verification
- adding and uploading scripts!
- list all scripts!!
- Making alpha download: http://tbhproductions.com/downloads.html

Don't forget that + - =

Cheers!!!!

This is a good idea. It'll make a nice addition to the sticky above, since it is now locked

I have a pretty cool DAI script; I'll think about handing it out here. I'll see what else I can whip together.

As a believer in Jesus Christ, I am trying to use my passion for game creation for His glory.

I actually have a wiki that you can use for such things...

http://www.akaneaya.co.uk/wiki/

You are free to register at will and even submit without registering however your IP will be used as the contributor...
hope you find it useful, you can click preview before submitting to see how it will appear... its retty good and if the script needs updating anyone can make a change and compare past editions...

I too share the same sentiment as you that the TGC Forum has given a lot and I too feel I needed to provide something for all to benefit from you might also want to check out my Dev Communtiy Project

http://www.akaneaya.co.uk/devcommunityproject/
[still not officially launched]

Eitherway

see that is the problem, many people provide a wiki

wikis are good and such but not very handy and takes quite time to load (many text and images)

the power of my program is:

-it will add offline support (for script reviewing)
- every user gets his own DB query (so everybody can see per developer)

- my code can not be parsed since it is encrypted (anti-hack-like)
- will place all .fpi files in the right directory
- no rar, zip and other cluster** in your downloads list.

the only thing users needs to do is just hit the add button, and they can start messing around with the script.

oh is that what you meant? but that means the file will grow to exponential prportions... I am working on an upload app... this also means that you are central point... hope you know what you are getting yourself into...

whats the biggy on the anti hack thing its open surce code why lock it?

fair enough on the offline bit... but then again how is it different from downloading a huge file... you wll still need to be online for the downloads... you can easy as ever copy and paste the wiki... and I am yet to see a code wiki... thats why I started one...

My wiki is not images based on page... everything is linked users decide if they want to see those items, and all files are linked in links for direct download.

but yeah curious to see what you come up with... was not sure what you meant in your first post but will keep my eye on this

if every user have his own Database query. he will have his own space. when he have that users can simply user his username as: "search term"
when that happens you can simply just see all scripts which he created.

about the wiki, a huge file takes much longer to load, as I said before a offline system is handy too, a user can then review any script he has. so he doesn't need to open up the scripts folder.

and a wiki is: open the webpage, copy the script, make a new file add the code, save it, go to the "Scripts" folder. add the script.

for my app: open the app, click "ADD / Download" and the file will be added to a directory which the developer provided.

it took: a 200 kb file and 20 seconds

wiki took: 5 minutes and max 10 MB

I know where I got myself into
I'm coding for 5 years now, took CISCO Net academy and have made functions and module for myself.

hehe cool not to worry, like I said curious to see this... but yeah, the wiki is good for users who want a read say on their mobile devices, each to their own devices I say

If I can help in any way just say the word ^^ and I will reply yae or nae whether I can do it or now... do you have web space to store your files?

Cool is that the CISCO 4.1 thing I had to leave as life was getting harsh...

Anyhoo nice to meet you buddy

in essense your making a DARK SOURCE for FPSC scripts right? but with web functions...

Gheheee, Nice to meet you too!
I took the CISCO CCNA Course, fully graduaded

haha it isn't a "DARK BASIC" like code.
everything will be coded in VISUAL STUDIO 2010.
then I have the possibility to let my mind free in the way.

tell me when the wiki is done then I will add the link to my app

yeah figured itwas the CCNA umm

Yeah well the wiki is pretty much raring to go its live and all, I will start adding various scripts to it, any linked from the forum MUST have the thread direct link in the wiki page as a reference...

I see a collaboration coming on ^^

EDIT

Oh the WIKI is not just for FPSC its for everything TGC and Programming in general so C C++ C# DGK AppGameKit DBPro DBC etc any code someody feels is wrth storing in a location they can return to they are welcome to do so that was the whole Idea... having a remote location to keep as a repository, so say you found a piece of code somewhere and like me suck at keeping bookmarks and hate keeping them anyway then you can keep that code in my WIKI

Perhaps you can parse some pages from the Wiki and read data from them? thus widening your scope beyond FPSC. just a thought

EDIT

argh typos

It is a good idea if it's a searchable database, and not just a list of scripts. I would think that the scripts would have to have or be filed by keywords? What's your idea on the searchable part.

Quote: "And please vote to get this stickied if you like!"

Probably a good idea to actually have something to see first.

you can search on:
- username
- type of script
- and description (some words in it will be key words)

Quote: "Probably a good idea to actually have something to see first."

what would you like to see first ? because I have a tiny part of the interface. and the user can login and register now.

Yes, using Visual and MYSQL is the best approach for a project like this.

Ok Just installed the program ScriptShareInstaller.msi and nothing listed in START All program files on my WIN7 box OR the desktop.

I DID FIND.... that Freeze crap Free Music Downloads
Free Dolphin Screensaver
and FREE GAMES>. As i did go http://fps-creator.eu/index.php
and dnloaded a model there maybe they sneeked in and installed that crap.

However i did find TBHProductions under program files(86).

Ok clicked the exe and got a darn login/register screen. I hate not having total control over everything on any of my boxes. so I registered. the image box would not accept any gif,jpg.bmp.dds.png,etc file.

So after registering i logged in and this was really weird. I got a popup saying there is already a user with my login. I figured it was me, as who else would use Meows.

SO what use will this be if it works or should I just del it. Although i have not done a registry check yet, the program is NOT listed under add remove programs, and if it indeed has any registry tracking in it that is really bad in my opinion.

At the welcome screen the Avator is really big. But that may be because not one Avator i have is accepted and I checked 12 of them.

I did upload a script.. a small edit to soundinzone.fpi
called soundinzoneREPEAT.fpi it plays a Sound In Zone everytime user enters a trigger zone. I find it helpful as I have players backtrack to areas and needed the sound to replay and mobs respawn.

OK tested on Win7 \
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB 7.6
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 7.8
Gaming graphics 4095 MB Total available graphics memory 7.8

NEEDS. desktop, taskbar or program files shortcut to make it user friendly. avator should be smaller or at least tell us what graphic format it excepted.
Other than that ,, looks good.

All the features should be working. I tested them 3 times.
And the login is really needed because all your files are stored in your own dir
All the problems as cant find install dir and no registry. Is relly strange.
Because the files doesnt use reg and are installed under the folder tbhproductions.
About the avatar problem it needs to accept all files which are image related. But find. out about the problem too. Will fix it wheni returning home im on my phonenow in thefield (military stuff)
