I am using Cartography Shop 4.1 and it is serving its purpose for a free software. My question is why can't I use my own textures that I add to the texture file. Seems crazy that we are limited to the few basic textures CS4.1 has. Am I missing something? Please help!

If I remember correctly, create a folder in the textures folder and place your textures in there.
Your textures must be .bmp or .tga file format.

Thanks for the reply! I had assumed that was the way to do it and had tried that. What I finally realized after several hours of searching is I had 2 installs of CS4.1 on my pc. My maps were being saved in one and I was adding my texture files to another. Get that. So problem is solved. Thanks again for reassuring I was doing it correctly.

It has been removed along with most that had anything to do with it except what you can find in the forums. It did come with the Dark Studio that I ordered a month ago. I was surprised that it was not supported any longer, that the 3D World Studio was the application they now promote. Quite disappointed that I got the old stuff in my studio. Oh yeah, It's a free download now also.

also can not remember what the issue with the builder edition of 3DWS was... wish there was a way to get the texture extension... it was removed a short while before I had the chance to buy it

off topic...

but I plan on buying Genetica next... but its like 3 billion pounds... {in annometer mearurements lol}

I am unsure whether the pro version is worth it... but I desperately need a texture library... and in case its not obvious I want to own a licence and all copyrights in the sense that I can use them in my projects and resell my projects {of course not the textures unless I made them or own the copyrights to resell perhaps time for me to learn to create good textures?}

back on topic...

ahh shame really... but hang on does that mean Leadwerks dropped it too?{CS}

I have 3DWS anyway so not too concerned here unless they drop that too I like 3DWS... I hope they can improve it... like add more features would love to see an update soon... it was soooo worth the money... if anyone wants meshes made in it just ask... [ignore this bit as its against the EULA

eugh whats happened to this box....

EDIT

thank me for going over there I stumbled across some free stuff on their site!!!!!!!

http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/files/file/264-rambos-texture-pack-25-textures/

wowza time for me to dissappear for a while on their site for free stuff muahahahaha

EDIT

I registered on their forum and well... nothing works... stupid website... can not even contact admin

EDIT

The admin guy contacted me through their chat thing and was totally rude and impolite to me... woooow...

EDIT

Correction in italics... Sorry for writing some of these edits... could just remove them but think its rude to do so... But I am currently somewhat resolving the issue at hand... I may be moving away from LeadWerks forever I am now looking for other terrain and environment creation programs... and considering looking at pricey options like Autodesk...

I guess I was not expecting a whole lot out of the Cart Shop 4 but, it works for a beginner game creator. Leadwerks, I believe doesn't support Cart Shop 4. They do still offer (not sure how much support though) the 3DWS. It appears they have focused on their own Game Creation Package. I have been using DarkGDK for my game. Is that still a good way to go? I absolutely realize there is very little info, support, or threads concerning the DarkGDK. How about DBPro?
I did find an app for object (model) creation that appears to be free (Community Edition), seems quite capable, and did notice it did have a directx exporter plug-in. http://www.delgine.com . I have only barely touched it. I just wish there was a solid, reasonably priced, completely encompassed package. I did look at Unity3D, nice app, but so expensive. LeadWerks seems very capeable, but requires the Lua (I believe thats what its called) language. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am suprised that you had bad customer service through them. Sometimes you are dealing with people that dont have the total interest of the business in mind. You are just dealing with individuals. Well, I hope you get your issue resolved none the less.
