These are some new waterscripts I created by modifying the original ones from FPSC by The Game Creators. Also, thanks to FPI Editor by Terry Cox. This contains the following:

1)"Carribean" water and raisewater scripts
2)"Murky" water and raisewater scripts
3)"Ocean" water and raisewater scripts
4)"Realistic" water and raisewater scripts
5)"Sunset" water and raisewater scripts

This is free of charge. It includes 10 scripts total and a license. The license is a short, simple freeware one but I suggest you read it anyway, it's a good habit to get into. I've learned that the hard way.

Enjoy!

Sounds cool, but did you ask the creator of the water (scripts) if you can modify and release them?

Anyways, thank you!

Here are some screenshots, rather crudely thrown together. I'll probably post some better ones.

Top Left- Carribean: speaks for itself
Top Middle- Murky: Good for grungy or eerie aquatic scenes
Top Right- Ocean: not as bright as Carribean, more generic
Bottom Left- Realistic: I think the more blue color is a more natural color for the water
BottomRight- Sunset: would really be complimented by a sunset skybox, i don't have one at the moment

He doesnt need to ask permission, as they are edited from the stock scipts that come with the new versions.

FPI Editor is the program that edits scripts by Terry Cox. Terry Cox did not write the scripts.

The original waterscripts that these are based off of were written by The Game Creators, as I said. I just now double-checked and I have once again found no license limitations against moddifying their default scripts and I have not witnessed them discouraging it in the past. Since I am moddifying it and giving them credit, there is no stated rule against it, and I am distirbuting it using their website for free, I see nothing against it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The water was built into the new version from a script made by someone else before. I believe this is the post i am looking for:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=176933&b=21
Now correct me if i am wrong, but i think JRH made the water and it was built into version 1.19.

Im just trying to be on the safe side man, i don't want you to get in trouble or anything over something so small..

Here is the first sentence from that thread
Quote: "Hi folks. There have been a few questions about how to use FPSC's new water, so I have created a few water zones."

So by this sentence, its obvious the water feature(which was added in V1.18, not V1.19) was put into FPSC, and he made these scripts afterwards.

And these are not the scripts that Pvt_Classified edited. He edited the stock scripts that come with the build. Which means, even if JRH had written the stock scripts, permission is not needed, as it wouldnt belong to him anymore, but would belong to TGC.

But its always good to be vigilent about how content is used, especially on this site, as Ive seen way to many threads where people distributed something that wasnt thiers, or broke a liscense agreement. And the noone wants to use something in thier games, that could potentially lead to legal action

But I don't see what I'm doing wrong? I just changed the colors on the water. I did this to change up the colors in the water because I know that's something I've thought about doing before and I finally figured out how to do. All you have to do is go into the water script and change the values for "waterred" and "watergreen." Then you do the same for the raise water script. I just thought other people might be interested in it. Now you know how to do it yourself, too. No big deal and I did not copy JRH. He seems to have some pretty nice ideas which are different than changing the colors of the water. Honestly, is it so hard to believe that other people in the world know how to use computers?

And thanks again Shakleford. Also, thanks to whoever did write the waterscripts. I like them very much, I just think more variety is good. Enjoy or don't, no one is forcing anyone to download these scripts.

Your not doing anything wrong Pvt, Desecrated was just mistaken about water scripts, and was just making sure you didnt get in trouble for something that happens alot on these forums.

@Pvt Classified, also, you can just edit your posts, instead posting multiple times in a row.

Oh by the way, i understand and I'm not trying to come accross as angry. A little agitated ad tired, but we still cool Desecrated?

Oh, and good tip about editing posts Shackelford. You can tell I'm new to this. I'm used to the Models and Media forum where everything, even an edit, has to be previewed by TGC moderators first. Thanks for the tip.

Thats probably been your trial period, its something we all go through as new users. Post moderation is lifted after a time and you will find that all your posts go straight through now.

Nice job on the scripts.

Awesome! Its one of those threads.

Desecrated: Understandable, I'm much more cooled down now. My apologies too.

Everyone: I also released a new entity. It's a Land Mine. The model is mediocore quality, I made it in a hurry. The script is excellent though, so if you want to make your own model, I'm sure it will be of great use. It is under Free Land Mine in the FPSC Models & Media. Enjoy!
