February 3D Compo: Instrumental Inspirations

Make a Musical Instrument, Simple eh?

We'll run this till March 25th. That should be plenty of time to complete something awesome.

Have fun!

Edit: Completion date changed.

I'm the first entry? Alright!
EDIT: I changed my entry AGAIN to a Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar! Rendered in Yafray.

Did you make it for the compo? You can only enter models you create specifically for this compo.
If you did, great job! That was pretty fast!

Props to David Gervais for the compo idea/banner, that man is a 3D Compo Guru!

Good luck everyone!

EDIT: Other model gone. Now replaced with one that's specifically made for this compo.

Here is my entry, a panflute.

Now, while you're laughing, yes I am a programmer and yes, it is exactly what it looks like. It's a couple of cylinders grouped together, subdivided and textured. I was originally going to make a triangle but it was too hard.

Thanks Quik! Entering these competitions is a fun way of improving my modelling skills so I plan to compete in more of them.

I've also seen some of the magic you guys perform so hopefully, I'll get to that level one day.

I'm in this one, maybe I will finish it. Very early stages of a drum set:

I'm in this one for sure

Here's a WIP on my beloved Stratocaster, hopefully I'll be able to give it a custom texture.

A trumpet! Box modeled with 1000 polys, then... Turbosmoothed! Now with an added 448,000 polys.

I'm making a piano model in DBPro using vertex data and uv data that I calculate outside the program and import. The juxtaposition of the white and black keys naturally looks awful unless I have anti-aliasing turned on. However, when I have the anti-aliasing on, I can't manage to do a screenshot to post here because the program says I'm trying to read from an illegal surface. Does anyone know a way around this, other than taking a digital photo of the monitor with an actual camera?

Here's mine so far - it's my take on a modern one-man band (Bass drum, keyboard, mic and a theremin so far )

Just got my internet back, perfect timing

Here's my final Entry, I don't have any fancy rendering software on my new computer but I've done my best with Ac3d.

Thanks

Here's my entry.
I hope it's not too late.
It's far from complete, though. The idea was to have a complete metalband playing a live performance.
Anyways, here it is:

EDIT: made a few last changes and added an (unfished) drumkit.
