This is a game I'm making for the Playbook offer on Blackberry.

Download DEMO! Updated to V0.0.2 19th Feb

Flick Pong is a two player game designed for tablets:

.
Originally it was intended as an experiment in multi-touch and possibly for use in an AppGameKit Bitesize tutorial but it's the closest thing I've got to a finished game so it's the best contender.

I'd like to release it free but I'm not sure it will qualify for a playbook if I do. If I do release it free I'll also release it here for free

It's designed as a multi-touch game but I'll make it work with keyboard and / or joystick if I get time.

Nearly finished the basic game which includes powerups such as:
Smokescreen
BigBall
ClusterChuck
Shield
BigPaddle

Graphics are by myself and Moondog, music is by The Slayer and myself.

Did you use particles for the fog/smoke effects coming from top and bottom side?

I used my own system.

Demo attached!

KEYS:
Player 1
--------
Q/A up/down
X fire
E pickup

Player 2
--------
P/L up/down
M fire
I pickup

First to a pickup gets it. Bare in mind that this is designed to be touch screen and you will create balls by flicking with your finger on the screen in the final game. Keys are just to give you an idea really and will be configurable eventually.

EDIT: Updated to full version more or less!

Thanks

I think if I do charge it will be max $0.99 and I will make it free to start anyway. Also I have lots more improvements to add before I charge for it.

I might give it a try just so I can see how hard it actually is to develop for. The game's working now but I have some more major projects to finish first.

The main reason I'm finishing this one so fast is for the playbook offer

This is some quality work once again baxslash I've noticed there is a complete lack of a decent pong game in the Android market. I've found air hockey, but no true pong. It would be a very good direction to take in addition to the path you're on, if you're aiming at tablets

Thanks for the heads up swissolo, I'll definitely take a look at that market! I have been meaning to at some point anyway

The latest version has a few new pickups too but I am trying to get it published on playbook before I release another version here. Too much to do!
