Ok, I've got 2 questions that I believe the answers to will revolve around scripting and HUDs. I also believe that the answers may already exist out here, but after searching I was unable to find anything other than someone who came up with a visual damage system left the forums, and I cannot find any other information.

So, I'm going to ask for help in locating the appropriate threads that contain the answers to the following questions:

1. Is it possible to have a weapon - either wielded by the player or by an enemy/ally - do a range of damage. Like, say, a sword doing 1-8 points of damage, or a bullet doing 2-12 points of damage, with the actual damage amount determine at the time of the shot?

2. Is there a script/hud system out there that shows the amount of damage done when a wound is inflicted (ala Dead Island)?

1) first question is all natural to fpsc showing up through weapon accuracy. accuracy 0 = maxdamage, above 0 brings a random factor 0>maxdmg. so the more random you wanna go, the higher numbers you should choose. consult ched´s syntax list.

2) ... dont know.

maho, thanks for pointing out Ched's syntax document. I didn't know it existed, but man does that thing have a lot of information in it. Not just for the accuracy thing, but for everything. I'll download it when I get home and put it to good use.

I did find out that Butter Finger's visual damage system is not what I'm looking for. His system was so the screen got more and more bloody the more hurt the player is, and that's not what I need. If something exists like what I've asked about and someone can point me in the right direction, great. If not, then I'll have to work on creating one.
