Cant seem to tell what is wrong, currently it is loading frame0001.png and not transitioning to anything else:

And every time I exit the build game menu and re open it, the script reverts back to:

Rookie Mistake:
Complied the game and lo and behold it worked (just doesnt seem to work in the editor), but to not waste a thread - how would I make the transitions slower?

would I increase the timegreater= to something that goes up in 500's rather than 100's? or do I need to just add another 100 frames and double up

The "timergreater=x" value is milliseconds, so 1000 milliseconds equals 1 second. You will have to use your first line as the baseline and go from there. You might put the value to 500, then the next one at 1500, and so on. When you run it, you may need to tweak to your requirements, but you get the idea.

An easier way would be to compile a video then use the backdropvideo=X feature.

Specs: Alienware M17x R3. i7-2630QM. 8GB RAM. Nvidia 560m. Momentus XT Hybrid Drive.

Place the desired video into your videobank folder, then go to the titlepage.fpi script file found in the languagebank of your built game (make sure the video is .wmv or .avi). Then, remove the backdrop=X command and replace it with backdropvideo=videobank\yourvideo.wmv.

Then it should play the video in the background and keep looping

Thanks.

Its working, but not very well: The video takes 30 seconds to load (I have tried a 2.9mb .wmv and a 800kb.avi - both still take a while to "load" - i can only assume) and when it finally does the menu buttons will not appear.

Here is my script as of current:

EDIT:

Ah I have fixed the "loading" issue, by placing
":state=2:backdropvideo=languagebank\english\gamebank\GateCommander\cutscenes\replicators.avi" at the start, and changing it to state 0.

I am completely new to scripting but I am guessing it was going through loading music, then all the other things before the script came to the video.

However, I still cant see the buttons. Can you help?

script now looks like:

It seems to me like this is a good way to put a video at the start of your game, or a company logo. How do you end a state? If i put state=0:state=1 will it stop the loop?
