Hello, I've challenged myself by "remaking" the first room that we visit in the game Deus Ex Human Revolution, which is the office of Megan Reed.

I spent at least 23 hours on it, there are still things to tweak like adding papers, files and other crap on the desktop, and after that it will be over !

Please note that I used models from other games that I found on a site dedicated to Half Life multiplayer because I don't have great modeling skills, I know that is illegal and for this reason, I can't release the map, I hope you'll understand.

Please note also, I'm a real snail LOL.

The shots are shown in chronological order

During the three first hours, the basic layout is done, i've used basic geometry ( a crate instead of a table ) to do a basic layout for my entites.

The two next hours, I've started to texturing the room and add real furniture.

I've spent the next hours to convert and redo the uv-map of some models, i've created speculars for these also.
Nothing to show here

I've got to get that so peculiar Deus Ex feeling on the mood of my map

Today, the map is near completion, I have an hour left to add final details on the desk.

That's all for now, updates will come later.
As usual, C & C are welcome, thanks !

Excuse my grammar errors, I'm French.

Looks great! I loved Deus Ex's style (I actually just bought the game this week) and this looks great! Maybe just some more papers and stuff around on the table and so on! I was actually thinking of trying myself to do some Deus Ex styled levels (visually only), but my FPS Creator hasn't been working at all lately...

Thank you all !

I still have one hour remaning to finish the map, but I'm too lazy for now.

Two screens showing some effects

Here's the self illumination on the laptops, model made by GPS

Here, I've just baked the curtain's normal map on the diffuse texture to use it as a static scenery element, what do you think of this ?
