I was using an old program written in DB called DS-DBConv. It works well but I'd like to see and understand the code.

Is there a plugin for GMAX that will export .x?

I don't know if there is a plugin, but what I use is a converter that can be found on Microsoft's page called "conv3ds.exe".

The only thing that the program uses is the hidden DBC command 3ds2x, which does exactly as it says on the tin. The syntax (iirc) is 3ds2x 3dsFile$, xFile$

I would be unstoppable if I could just get started...

Oh, and I dont think there's any (legal) .x exporter plugin for Gmax, as models made in Gmax are not to be used in commercial projects, and only used with games that support Gmax.

TKF15H,

Do you have to get the whole SDK or is that downloadable by itself?
