What is the best 3D format for DBP? I can't seem to use .3ds files. They just cause my program to quit when I try to load them.

.x load far, far, far faster. You can also contain animations in them, which I believe is not possible with .3ds.

Do you bite your thumb at me sir?

It's possible with .3ds, but not efficient. You'd have to have 1 .3ds model for each frame which is just not efficient.

(Although, I've never gotten a .3ds file to work with DBP)

.X all the way!

@yellow

what are you on about? 3ds files can hold animations as well as x but, not many softwares can save 3ds files with animations 3ds max only afaik

3ds files are about 5 times smaller than x files, but as McHaggis said there quicker to load, but dbp has alot of problems with 3ds files atm, so .x is the winner atm.

XOF format is the best,when loading a 3DS file versus a XOF file
It was quite a bit faster! so i say XOF(.X) Forever!
