I just started playing and after some time, I decided to enter the "BlueSpring's Warrior Training". When I was fighting the master, I was loosing. Then this happend:
Quote: "
Level: 1
Start of round:
Mireraband's Hitpoints: 8
YOUR Hitpoints: 6
You execute a power move!!!
You hit Mireraband for 8 points of damage!
Well done Farmboy TKF, I should have guessed you'd grown some.
You have defeated Mireraband!
You advance to level 2!
Your maximum hitpoints are now 20!
You gain an attack point!
You gain a defense point!
You have a new master.
"

Normally, my powermoves take 3 hp. Was this just an increadibly lucky strike, or was the game programmed to do this?

I died later on, and went to the world of the undead. So, what happens if I lose all my Soul Points?

At what times of the real day does a game day end?

If you lose all of your soul points before being resurrected then you have to wait until a new game day - then you will be resurrected automatically

oh. I died within the first 5 minutes of a game day. It'll be a long while before I get to play again.

If the update worked correctly, there are now only 3 "real" hours per game day.

Raven - it's a BBS game originally, hence the text only! I'm glad for it, makes it far more amusing.

Cheers,

Rich

@Rich: I almost forgot to say congratulations. This site is getting constantly better, and mabe some day, I might even be able to order pizza from here. Nice job! Now, instead of flamewars, forum members can attack each other with rakes to see who's right.

I've only died 3 times.
I'm kinda curious about what levels everyone is on. And what day they're on would be good too. That way I can know if I'm too far behind. Just made level 4 today...

Yeah they're good.. you can get to a few new places on them and they fight for you! Be warned, they can be killed in combat though.

Has any one tried playing this in Opera under Linux? The fighting gets MUCH faster. The page loads in under 1 second...

It's a shame that I'll have to leave my pony behind Every time it would be useful. (level up battles and PvP) Plus I can't even use the specials... so what's the point of doing not-so-buffed char?
They can be killed in combat - really? uh. better go sell my pony back, then... 20 rounds of help isn't that much either.

and Raven... the safety of the Inn is deceiving.

also, what does haunting do, really?

Interesting. So how often (experience-wise) do you gain a level?

@Exeat

"Interesting. So how often (experience-wise) do you gain a level?"

How often you level up is determined by how often you challenge your master. There are limits on when you can challenge your master based on how much experience you have, but other than that level up is more a choice than an event. Having said that, if you have a lot of experience(way over the minimum to challenge the master) the master will challenge you when you return to the village and you will have to fight him. If you beat him you will level up and acquire a new master.

TK the pages load for me in 0.01sec normally, but the official lotgd.net seems to be FAR FAR faster than DBPs.
It loads instantaneously and there's no flicker when the pages change its just seemily changes the number... dunno what thats down to though, they're both loading AS fast technically - just something different serverwise i think.

yeah, but on my PC, in windows, it takes about 2 seconds to load, probably my crappy ISP plus the fact that I'm on a lan. On linux it just flashes.

I downloaded the source and installed it on my own webserver. I'm gonna change all the weapons' names. I've allready changed "Pony" for "Large Iguana".

If the logd.net server was dishing out half a million pages per month AS WELL as running LOGD, I'm sure it wouldn't be as snappy either we've just had one server upgrade, but hopefully we'll get another early next year.

Cheers,

Rich

lol perhaps, but the loading times are basically identical according to firebird, 8ms ... yet dbp's server flicks each page and lotgd.net doesn't
it's weird

i like the version they have up cause it has alot of little tweaks here and there for things.
still wish the fighting wasn't so random, would be nice to have an FF style moves/special system. The damage and movement is just so random because it doesn't base anything on speed and such. Guess thats the bane of the older MUDs, eh... a little too basic in some respects.

Every time you slay the dragon, you lose a ton of stuff.
you can also play at logbe.webcindario.com (my version). I'll be modifying the game ALOT. It's gonna be set in the present instead. First 10 to sign in and make a petition are gonna get either a special weapon (like a lightsaber or whatever...) or 1000G.
