My son (8) has made his own game. It runs horribly slow so I started going through and changing anything he had set to dynamic to static. I also turned all zombies to not spawn at start. I am trying to make them appear after you reach a trigger zone but I can't get it to work.

Am I even trying the right thing and will this help speed up his game?

First things first: update to AT LEAST v117. I'd recommend going all the way to 119 to get access to the latest features and stuff.

Secondly, what script are you using to get the zombies to spawn? And have you set the min/max spawn numbers for the zombies?

Third, I think you did the right thing by going through his game and setting the dynamic stuff to static so it's part of the level geometry and not separate like dynamic entities would be. That's a great start to speeding up the game he created. Another thing to check is the lighting in the level - static lights, dynamic lights, switches, and entities for lights can all affect speed.

Again, let us know what script you are using, and what you are trying to do in the script that doesn't seem to be working.

use appear2.fpi to spawn characters with triggers. other scripts may cause trouble, resulting in invisible characters or collision-probs. look into appear1 & 2 script, and you see the difference.

Ok I updated. I was running appear1.fpi I just changed it to appear2 and tested the game. It worked! Sort of. I hit my trigger and the zombie popped up and fell through the ground. lol

Thoughts?

This probably won't help but make sure the entity is touching the ground (press enter when you have him selected to place him on top of the surface he's one) perhaps you accidentally lowered him.

Ok, trying that now. Making sure they are on the ground. I did notice that some of my guns are now floating with the new update
