I am looking into ordering DP and I have a few questions:
1. Is it compatable with major video card brands? It uses Nvidia Physx ("harness the awesome capabilities of the NVIDIA PhysX™")
2. If not, then is there a non-Physx mode?
3. How is the speed? If I have >100 objects, does it slow down? My pc is not the fastest, but I would say it's mid-high range.... I'm concerned about others trying to play games I make.

(I'm also looking at DarkAI, so any inputs on that would be good too)

Thanks in advance for the advice.

EDIT:
I am also looking at Enhanced Animation. Does it have a "rag-doll" funtion? It didn't say on the fact sheet.....

The fastest code is the code never written.

You should get DarkDynamiX rather than DarkPhysics, they both use PhysX but I have had better speed less bugs than DP. A trial version is free http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=187776&b=8

Why is it not listed under GDK? The page says it works on GDK.... Thanks for the input.
I noticed it does rag-doll. That's awesome!
Is it compatable with Enhanced Animation? I would like to use both if I can. If not, DD will do just fine--I'll just have to make my animations tight....

Do you have any input about my other questions?

From what I know, Enhanced Animation should work fine with DD.

It should be compatible with other brands if you install PhysX driver (end-users will also need to install it). Most new Nvidia drivers come bundled with PhysX driver.

There's no such thing. As Bigglesworth suggested, look into DarkDynamix it's essentially a pimped up version of DarkPhysics which does not require separate PhysX installation (all physx dlls are to be distributed alongside your executable). It is also faster and less bugged.

Enhanced Animations has nothing to do with physics. It allows you to extract, modify and apply animation data to separate limbs (e.g. shoot gun with upper part while lower part of body is cycling through running animation).

I realize that. Here's a better asked question: Does EA allow you to take a limp body and apply physics to it (using something like DP)?
I'm really considering getting DarkDynamiX. It seems like an overall solid utility.

Well if you intend to create a dead body (DD rag-doll) that still animates (EA) (I won't ask why ) I suppose you could, but sooner or later both systems would collide. Can't answer that you will need to try out yourself.

What do you want to know about DAI?

Are there any known issues?
I am making an interrior world (inside caves). I won't have too many NPCs running around at any one time, but is there a threshold to the number where DAI starts to lag?

I've been working with some 5-10 NPC's in a single container (e.g. same floor in a building) at the same time with no noticeable slow-downs. It all depends on how well you use the path-finding system. If you put way-points everywhere and want to calculate some crazy routes obviously it will get slower due to high cost of route determination. Keep it balanced and you'll be fine. DAI has been around for years, haven't heard people complaining about it.
