Newcomers DBPro Corner / Simple Box question

Hi,
I made a simple 2d box and i have gotten to move it around the screen. I am just curious as to why, in order to move the box up, I need to use DEC a, rather than INC a.
Also, When any part of the box moves off the screen, the whole thing disappears. Why is that?

well depending on where the box is, and where you want it to go, you need to dec and inc various x and y to achieve the effect. In 2d the upper left corner of the screen is (X,Y) 0,0 - the lower right is whatever your resolution is set to (ie 800,600)

not sure about the other thing you asked.
