how would someone go about finding out if a new command could be added to DBP, or if such a command would be possible?

to be possible, a .x file would have to be able to save UV Coords on multiple Map Channels... dont know if this can be done?

proposed command: SET LIGHTMAPPING ON object number, image number, map channel

this way an object (level) could still use multiple tiled textures, but use a single image for the lightmap... might be a little hard to understand (but trust me, would be extremely useful!!!)

that or could someone with more knowledge about DLL program one that could do this?

Well, I don't know the details if it's possible to do it even in DB Pro, but to add commands to the language you have to use for instance Visual C++ or Power Basic -- and make Win32 DLLs. It doesn't really matter what language, as long as it can make pure Win32 DLLs. Not ActiveX ones, however.

There's some tutorial about how you go about it somewhere on the forum, but I don't know where. There's a particular process. Myself, I've never made a DLL for Dark basic. I guess I have to lear DB better first before I try that one.

They SAID that given enough time a million monkeys with typewriters could recreate the collected works of William Shakespeare... Internet sure proved them wrong.
