FPSC Classic Scripts / I have no clue how to script this...

Hey, long time lurker, first time poster. During my time lurking these threads, I've seen quite a few interesting and innovative scripts, and I'm hoping someone can guide me towards a solution to a script I'm trying to figure out. Hell, if someone could write the damn thing, I'd be eternally grateful.

Essentially, what I'm trying to do is have a two part action - I want an entity to walk about the level, and when they see the player, to rush at them and attack. Then, if the player escapes, I want the entity to resume their random walking.

Is this too complicated for a simple script job, or am I just too dense to figure it out?

Thanks for any help!

I know I can use pace.fpi to get an entity to move in a general sense, but what I ultimately want to do is have the entity roam the level, attack the player when you walk into their range of sight, and once you get away, for that entity to resume it's random search for you.

No this isn't at all! Heres what I want you to do!
Go to your FPSCreator Directory.
progamfiles/thegamecreators/fpscreator/docs/ocfpsc.pdf

open the ocfpsc.pdf file, now roam through it! It should have what your looking for, and help you with your scripting knowledge, it will sure help you my friend, the script is in there somewhere, basically it does what your looking for, its a guard script, the enemy will roam randomly, when the enemy walks into walls, it turns 90 degrees and walks again, etc

or you could search google/these forums
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=101591&b=23
here is what you were looking for. the script in the .pdf uses waypoints, at least i think so, the one i linked doesn't, its more advanced!

//cheers, hope this helped!
