So I went searching and people have asked this but no one has ever replied the answer. I'm trying to make my own material (snow) and I have the sounds to go with it.

Does anyone know how to make their own material and then correctly point to it in the segment FPS? I see the "MaterialDEfault" file in the Audiobank\Materials but after playing with it... I just ended up messing up FPSC.

I also noticed that the numbers that segments reference don't necessarily correlate with the MaterialDefault list.

Does anyone have experience with this? I want to give Cosmic's snow segments some snow sounds. I can't stand the thought of not having them in my game... for the sake of immersion.

the material-sounds are limited as far as i know. so you should look through it and think of a material that you dont need and exchange that sound for snow.

Alright Maho. That probably is true for the simple reason that I was only able to go within the 7 basic materials. Model Maker told me which number goes with what material and I found the sound files in the Audiobank.

It is a shame I had to turn all my sounds down to 22050HZ but that was the only way FPSC would play them and not crash. I replaced the cloth material (#7) with the snow sounds. It seems to work good now.

That's because the number used for material and the frequency (22000) is "hard coded" into the source.

Adding materials is tricky, but we have done it by modding our source. Unfortunately, the only way to do it without modding is to overwrite an existing material that is not getting used.

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.
