heh. that's pretty funny.
No idea... doesn't seem to be finished either, because it's not even on the main menu or news yet.
I could use that ... my driving skills suck.. or perhaps I should say I lack anykind of skills to drive a car. But somehow I did get past the tests... at least on the 2nd try.

Rich said they had a new product...

And I'd also say that's the 'hush, hush' product Rick was referring to in one of the Newsletters.

This sure fits the profile, so I guess the secrets out lol.

It is on the drop down 'Affiliates' menu. Been there for a few days.

Pity there's no demo though. I fancy knocking over a few pedestrians!

There's nothing "hush hush" about this anymore! and before anyone says why did we spend our time on this and not on DBPro the simple answer is we didn't - DTSP was written by a DB programmer (not Lee/Mike) so DBPro development was ongoing at the same time.

It's a very good little package, which is also probably why it's outselling Halo and is number 7 in the WH Smiths software charts. It's part of the Driving Test Success range published by Focus which are the number one selling budget PC title (£14.99 and under) in the UK. So for those asking if a commercial program can be made in DB, the answer is most definitely yes. Read more about it in Issue 11 of our newsletter released end of this week.

Cheers,

Rich

I started this topic, so:

BRITS ARE RIGHT

Pls people understand that driving on the left is best as the there are more right handed people. Right handed people prefere to look to their right, being on the left means the wheel is on the right so when a person looks right they look onto the road, rather than onto the person in the passenger seat.

So, people in the UK who are left handed (like me) should move to america, and the right handers in the US move to the UK.

This would mean the US becomes the brainiest country and the best art and music comes from there. And the UK can sit back with builders bums and larger louts .

LOL

I am a firestarter, twisted firestarter!!!!!!!!1

Whatever the case I recommend no one in the US buys this program, because next thing you know we'll have people driving on the wrong side of the road and well we just don't want that now do we.

Didn't our version of Midtown madness also have you driving on the right side (ie. wrong side) of the road? Mainly because it was set in the US.

Ah, but there was the cack UK version (was that on Midtown madness 2?). They drove on the left (ie. right side).

So, the right side is the wrong side, and the left side is the right side.... anyone seen Clockwise or Dave Allen?

Cheers

Oh, and as to DB being a viable product for selling games. Erm, it's not a game. In which case change the logo at the top to be TheGame-and App-Creators. Or get rid of the game bit, and advertise DB as a good way of doing the 3D bits of applications. Hmmm...

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

I dunno, but I always drive on the wrong side of the road anyway. More fun that way.

Did ya hear that driving on the right side make me important.

<<< Grin >>>

First time for everything.

----------------------------------------

Seriously though. I think that these types of programs are great starter tools for young drivers. I just wish they got more notice from the general public. You never hear of these types of programs over here in the US even though every Insurance sompany should be pushing the virtues of programs like this. So many people over here don't even know what yield means in a store parking lot.

We only sell them to people in the UK (strangely enough).

Quote: "Oh, and as to DB being a viable product for selling games. Erm, it's not a game."

And it's not an application, so your suggestion was as equally wrong. It's a fully 3D interactive title, with lots of 3D scenery, objects, 3D positioned sounds, skyspheres, collision, AI, atmospheric effects, etc.. it's more game-like than an app as it has all of the hallmark features of such a title.

Cheers,

Rich

Didn't one of the midtown madness games have a level in london where cars drove on the left side?

Almost as confusing as that addon for grand theft auto set in london.

I dont bother sticking to the correct side in GTA (any version) - I just tend to either avoid on-coming traffic or just ram everything out of the way...
