People are always struggling for ideas on what to make so I thought I'd post this link: it is a fantastic collection of puzzle games that are all based on simple rules yet tough logic. Reproducing these would make for a nice challenge.

Oh nice. The "Filling" one is pretty addictive. And somewhat similar to Minesweeper. I just wasted the previous hour playing that game.

Once I figured out how to play Filler, it became almost easy. I made minesweeper before, I think it wouldn't be too difficult to program this.

Try Cube, it gets frustrating!

We can share seeds! This is for Galaxy, which is my favourite so far: 30x30:gdijgihzzlemksepxdxlzjhctijzcszizhgljtgoxhzqtkoizzmgkeknyzflevzfvoculdzbzzntrcoodgjkildpzhzuczfgbgpgjwvzygzpwkfzzfifnegnzqzozbbirjnngzfjvizzpbzcdjxhwzzbzlkzccjbzdzghislpzzzzfrlcdzazzzblswmkuioxzzczeddhvjyjzzfzvhjzdcfpzdztdzfjgzadezzsboczdpzdfpwhsf

I think puzzles could be used as a really nice way of representing research in an MMO: puzzle solutions represent knowledge, so solving a puzzle would improve things like manufacturing methods.

Players could work together on the trickier puzzles. I can imagine libraries filled with books of solutions, some of them years old, and players reading the old puzzles and working on new ones. Then a group of enemy troops bursts into the library and torches the place down, and all the knowledge is lost with it. Alternatively they could steal the solutions and use them for themselves.

That sounds pretty cool to me.
