So, I've been thinking for a while about creating more of an organisation for game creation, but I'm stuck for ideas... I've found a generator and there's some good results, but I want your take. Could anyone suggest any good names?

The generator: http://struct.ca/company-name-generator/

They don't have to be from the generator, or you can mix em up, as long as its a cool name!

Cheers,
Wheatleyy

What sort of suffix are you think of? That could be a help, some random ideas:

"Iridium Studios" (Theres some great ideas to be had from the periodic table)
Opiate/Endorphin/Dopamine <- For a general neurological theme
"Venatus Solutions" (Venatus=latin for "game")
"A moral company"

I like the style of the first suggestion "iridium". I also like the idea of having a suffix of 'Studios' or 'Interactive'. I'd probably focus on action and sci-fi games, so anything with a prefix of that sort of nature? I like the idea of something like 'West Side Interactive'...

I wanted my company to be called 'Upside-down games', but nobody else liked it

Rendered Space
Loud Wizard Games
Edible Princess Studios
Joy Bomb
Soft Cake
Digital Spoon
Hard Ship Games (pun!)
Cracked Machine Studios
Tomato Tomato United
Rotten Girls Studio

I like some of those, especially "Hammer Tank." I feel like I need to create the perfect name but in the end, it's the content that matters.

Before you create the perfect name, I would create the perfect product to sell first! But I've always been a bit backwards...

You are backwards indeed! What you're supposed to do is call your company "This here software that we make is the bast gosh dang software you have ever used and you will love it and we guarantee it and you'll tell all of your friends about it and they will get it too and they will be happy and you'll be happy and we'll be happy and the world will be happy Inc". Then, give your company a slogan like "good".

After that, make a product that goes up to your company's name.

Few years ago, we had a similar discussion on TGC and devised a formula for creating game company names and I implemented it into a PHP code.

Wow, this is too great.

Honestly, I was thinking and searching for a good name for weeks, and the best I could come up with was Shellfish Games. Still not sure if the name is any good, I just like the sound of it and the fact that it's easy to remember.

More suggestions by Phaelax' generator:
faithful button Studios
malicious ray Creations
periodic crow Creations
stormy shoe Productions
therapeutic coach Productions
huge frogs Productions
voiceless nut Studios

Some are simply funny and a few actually sound good.

Honestly no, because of copyright issues later. Better to settle company and then a game. Of course I mean "serious buisness"

I think our best bet is gonna be with the generator and then modifying or tweaking from there.

I was under the illusion that TGC stood for The Game Creators?

3D squirt sounds pretty good there wolf . By the way, I still don't have a name despite all of these (great) suggestions although Pink Visuals does sound rather attractive.

Phaelax's generator produced the best one: Well-Groomed Beggar Games.

@Wolf - From those I like: Black Spark, Dead Ferret, Human Beard.

Just had another though... How about taking lyrics from a song and using them in your name? Examples:

Dancing Beast Interactive
Tokyo Fire Studios
FogJump Games

Just to name a few. I'd like to see what results people get from the generator, I was considering coding one, would people be up for that?

Cheers

@wolf - I agree to a certain extent. I think that using a generator could get creative ideas into your head that you can then modify and optimise, just my opinion though

Cheers,
Wheatley

In an old thread, people had suggested we should try to make a game based around what was generated.

Here's what my generated name back then inspired me to create:

RandJam this could be a thing.

I found the perfect generator for this: http://videogamena.me/

Zombie Donkey Crime Scene Investigation is now in development! (PS it will be bad/broken/unfinished or all of the above.)

The one thing I don't like about the generator is that it sometimes uses established game characters, like Yoshi, Master Chief, etc.

I'm messing around with the generator so will post some good ones others might like to use. It comes out with some boring stuff sometimes but then you get magical ones like:

Cyborg Sunshine Jamboree
All-American Transvestite from Hell
Go Go Karate Polo
Space Wheelchair Kombat
Enormous Piano Strikes Back
Primal Dating Attack
