The new model pack Hellbound: Demons is now out and looks awesome. Can't wait.

Addendum:

This is in an email I had gotten as a new youtube upload:

Thanks Rolfy for this pack. I just purchased. There are four grounded and four winged demons. They are different mainly regarding their texture. However, the animations they have are super. This pack is going to fit right in with a game idea I have. Actually, the game idea will use all of what I have started with the "Time Lord" game. I have just changed the back story as well as the direction it will take. Enough of this. I will try and give some in game screenies and or videos in this thread.

@Nickydude

Hey, could you change the thread subject name that reflects the fact that it is Model Pack 70 and the name is Hellbound Demons Pack. I think Rolfy would appreciate it.

I would but I assume an official thread will be created shortly. if not I'd be more than happy to rename the thread.

There may be. However, there never was an official thread for MP69. It doesn't matter to me of course. Mike Johnson was the one who usually announced the Model Packs but I don't believe he's with TGC anymore. It seems that starting with MP66 Rick V started announcing them. He announced the model packs through MP68 but MP69 never did get an official thread. I just figured they're a little short handed at the moment.

Thanks Terry and Nickydude.

Here's a shot of the Demons.
There are twelve meshes which make up a total of sixteen Demons, this is due mostly to multiple textures required to maintain resolution and animation requirements.
A lot of work went into animating and scripting these guy's and they are fast and furious, you only need to drop two of them into a level to see what I mean.
They also throw exploding fireballs at the player randomly from both air and ground.

The shot doesn't include the videotexture versions this was more of a bonus though I must say the video versions are really cool looking in game.

I intend to continue the 'Hellbound' theme with other characters and at the moment am working on a 'Depths' modular cave system with full enemy collision terrain ground. I already ran tests on these guy's with my terrains and they work perfectly.

I don't trip over...I do random gravity checks.

You need to get a video of how they are different because from the pack shot the meshes look identical but with a different diffuse map.

Hi, I would love to say great pack (pack 70 -demon), but model coming out strange (see attached file).

I'm running FPSC in 32bit Windows 8 and running with administrator rights and loaded the example .fpm file and even used my own level but the model not showing correctly. I have the latest version of FPSC 1.20.017. with directx 9.0c.

If anyone has any ideas why this is happening, that would really be great.

@Bored of the Rings

Are you using Full Shaders? This would be my first guess.

Check your Preferences - Visuals - Full Shader Effects (for Test Game)
or check Build Game - Build Settings - Full Shader Effects (for Build Game)

You need to have these lines in your setup.ini

Many thanks

[UPDATE]: thanks Anubis, I hadn't updated my .ini file.

is the fire ball a new type of weapon? is there a weapon pick up so the player can throw fireballs too? could i have other characters throw fireballs too? Do you have to have the latest RC to use these models?

sorry for all the questions. this pack looks amazing!

Simply assign the weapon in the drop down Has Weapon field, it's called rolfy/demonweapon.

You can assign the weapon to any stock character. There is no VWEAP pick up though it would be easy enough to make one. The HUD.X itself at present is tiny and invisible as I didn't want the Demons to carry it and wanted the fireballs to appear out of their hands. So only the flak is visible in game.

Use people\getinrange10.fpi for main and people\throw10.fpi in the shoot field for any stock character.
If you use a custom character it would likely require a throw animation and assigned in the throw script, most of bond's characters retain the stock animations so I reckon those should be good to go. If not you could use a melee slash animation to simulate a throw.
The player can also use these by assigning in the start marker.

I don't trip over...I do random gravity checks.

Nice one rolfy. I love the animations...so life-like. Thanks for all your hard work. It's great you are going to continue the Hellhound theme. Should make an excellent Gothic Horror type game.

@rolfy

thanks for the reply.... i like the idea that the weapon is so small that it can't be seen....

For your next pack it would be great if you did a spell casting set like this where you throw fireballs, lightning.. ect...

now i have to buy this
