Well i'm just starting on game creation and i want to try and make my own 3d models, but i just can find the right program. I would really like if the program was free for commercial use and it is really easy to learn.
here are the aspects i'm looking for

<>easy to use
<>simple interface
<>a way to shape the model into different forms

I may not be making that much sense with the three things i want because there isn't anything that you can know exactly what to do as soon as you start using it, but i have tried blender and others and the interface is really complicated. so the main thing i want would be a simple user interface. Remember i'm new to 3d modeling and i think there is a word for my last request but i just cant think of it

Thanks for any help.

Truespace!

Very easy to use interface and modeling package. Comes with a manual so it's easy to get into. Can do it all, modeling, uvmapping, bone animation.

Thanks josh! Will take a look at it

EDIT: Wow thanks for showing me that program, it doesn't look like the most professorial program out there, but it looks really simple to use . Thanks again

Take a look at 'Milkshape' which is also another program which is easy to pick up and is cheap to buy.

@ Seppgirty

I followed your fragmotion tutorials and thought that was what you were using. In what ways are Truespace better than Fragmotion (I have both).

Thanks

@elbow

i use Truespace to model and UV map my models, because it's easier to box model in TS. Plus because i've used TS a lot longer than any other program and i'm used to it.

I use fragmotion for rigging, animating, exporting game characters. I do small vertix modeling in fragmotion. (like the house model tutorial i did.)

if you have the TS 7.6 that includes the 6.6 side. (confusing, i know) check out these downloadable videos from 3d buzz.

http://www.clintons3d.com/tutorials/gs3dbuzz/gamespace.htm

Go half way down the page. it shows you how to box model an elf. they are tutorials for gamespace. (wich was a stripped down version of TS 6.6)

Ive always been a fan of Blender3D (http://blender3d.org). It was very simple to learn, and its very powerful.

If you're planning a game development career though, Id picks omething closer to the industry standard tools, as blender's interface is very different, and adapting later on isnt always easy.

There are plenty of great suggestions in this thread, if I were you id pick one and get to learning!!! Can learn until you get started

I vouch for blender. You can adjust the interface to make it look like Maya. It's extremely powerful and has loads of tutorials.

@XDwannesXD,Ross tra damus: I think i would rather use something free first, and if it is my last resort i will try.

@Landman,BULLSHOCK 2: I toke another look at blender, and surprisingly i understood it a little better! i think i will see if i can come up with anything in blender.

Although others have mentioned great software, for the guidelines you gave I highly recommend Ac3d.
