Is there any other long boarder's on these forums? If so whats your specs and experiences of long boarding?

I own an Atom Drop-through with reds sport racing bearings. I'm kinda new to long boarding.

I do skateboarding whenever I can. Nothing special or pro-like, but I couldn't live without it for 10 years...
Just got a new skatepark in my howtown last year, yay!

We used to ride down a few steeper hills with our usual skateboards back in the days, was a lot of fun. But didn't do actual longboarding yet. It's on my to-do list

That looks like a nice skate park! I used to skate but I move more to long boarding. I love the adrenilline and freedom of riding. The fastest I have gone is 40 mph. Speed wobbles are the scariest thing ever. Just if you do start long boarding start simple and wear at least a helmet.

Hopefully once I'm done with finals and am working again I'll save up for my first board. Any recommendations for an entry-level freestyle board? Would like to use it to commute to uni too - though I'm not sure how practical that is in London.

My board is drop through by atom I got it for $99 on amazon then 12 bucks for reds bearings. my board goes faster then most of my friends name brand boards that cost $200. Just look on amazon they have some good ones that you wont be dispointed by for it being your first

Did you change the trucks or wheels? Everywhere I've looked recommends changing these right away to something like a Paris/Orangatang combo.

Sounds fun though!

I haven't but I am saving up money to. I'm planning on purchasing gull-wing trucks... I believe there made by sector 9 and I was looking at wheels made my Paris yesterday. I'm looking specifically at the gull-wing turcks because they are supposed to have good stability at fast speeds. My current ones get a little wobbly when going fast.

Any new park is always nice to have near home, but that looks tiny!

But then we have Skatopia, which is 88 acres.

Indoor parks here in town:
