I was wondering.Do I just create a picture and when I save it in dds will it split it up in parts automatically?

No it wont.By splitting did you mean the normal and specular and diffuse maps?

I'm not sure but I would have to say like a character dds files where its all in parts.

Why not testing it?

But it splits not! You can just create a _D or _D2 or with a plugin(not very good) _N or a _S/_I on at one time.
