I recently made some static characters for my game. But now that I've put them in my game I'm not able to click on them at all.
Does anybody know what might cause that to happen?

Hi riccetts
When you say
Quote: "I'm not able to click on them at all. "

do you mean right click, or left click, or at all? Is this a new problem, as in were you able to pick/click on them them before today?
I've never come across this problem before. Maybe someone else has.
Just for the sake of it, you are in "Entity Mode" when do this, right?

hmmm, did they work before?
As for your backwards signs, did you tried to rotate them?
(R-key to rotate) Or do you mean the texture/text is backwards?

At first when I first applied them and then I saved and thats when they wouldn't click.

The text on the texture shows backward and I did rotate it but its still backward.

That is strange for just a static entity. If you want to email me one and I'll see if the same happens on mine, only if you want to?

As for the backward text, are you using Milkshape to export? I remember one of the DirectX JT "export" options was "right-handled" or maybe "flip texture"? One of those you have/or don't have checked that flips the texture.
If all you want is some signs have you looked into "Firma V2"
It's available at BlackFox's site here http://www.northernfoxmedia.com/index.php?option=content&pcontent=1&task=view&id=52&Itemid=144
Makes very nice signs.

At first glance I noticed it was still set to "ischaracter=1"
Change to "ischaracter=0" as it is now just a static entity.
Also try and keep your mesh ".x"file and texture in the same folder. Take a look at your original .fpe and notice the changes in mine. Worked fine for me now.
best

ncmako,
The entities are still not clicking at all after I save them on a layer. I changed all the tings you mentioned. Now in order for me to move them I have to delete the whole later. But I can't save or else the same thing happens. Could it be how I made it with milkshape?

Howdy,

Same happened to me (a few times..).
My final solution was deleting the entity, textures, meshes, etc. no trace left of it in my fpsc directory. Backup beforehand
Then, when you restart fpsc it will be missing a few files.
Open your level and most probably they are gone already.
Else FPsc has some kind of "?" entity and you can see the leftovers of the character in your game. You should be able to delete at that point.
Save game, restart fpsc and its gone (if all went well).

I think this problem occurs when your entity has a point of origin below (or higher) than should be for the engine. How and or what i dont know. All i know is when it happened to me, i moved an entity up (PageUp) (clicked Apply) and wasnt able to edit it anymore after that, nothing clickable.
You can try for yourself, go to level 0 and lower an entity below this level. It shouldnt be clickable after that.
With level 0, i sort of understand, but level 10/11 i can't.

Hope this helps anyway with deleting your character.
What you can to to really fix the issue, i don't know. I would check XYZ origins in my model, but im not a modeler. Hope someone else has a solution.
