Would it at least be possible to still finish the capturing bases system? So if the player, or a friendly character, is in an area, they can capture the enemy's base? Likewise for the enemies, if an enemy character is in an area, they will capture the player's base. Basically a simplified version of your system.
All of the ammo and health finding for the characters was really cool and all, but if you streamlined their AI and eliminated those parts, Im sure you could make it work well!
