I am working on a portfolio for all of my photos. I need help to decide which website is better before purchasing a real domain. All feedback will be taken happily. Just be truthful!

Website 1:

Website 2:

Thanks!

I think I'd say the first one seems a bit more professional. The only complaint I have with it is mainly the color scheme for your menu; just seems a bit amateur-ish. Other than that, you got some nice content on there, so thumbs up!

What colors should I choose for my menus color scheme? Any idea? Also thanks for the feedback. Hopefully the content will start to become higher quality soon because I am purchasing a new camera+camera equipment.

Hey man, nothing wrong with the content from what I've seen. You seem passionate about it, and have a pretty decent collection of cool, diverse shots. I'd say to stand out further with your future shots, really experiment with different angles to express moods and emotions. It's a skill that many professionals even lack.

Nothin' wrong with a blue color scheme for the menu, I'd just suggest cooler shades of it. Not cool as in 'Woah, hey that's pretty cool!'; cool as in cool vs. warm colors. I have an idea that'd fit pretty well, but I'm actually writing this on a smartphone. I'll get you some hex colors (and rgb as well, you can use whichever) for my idea in the morning, so that you can just throw them in.

My favourite photo:

Oh, I cannot post it. It is the one of the inside of a green tube with a dead fly in a web. I like photography that is not framing the obvious.
Does this take you to it? http://collinanderson.foliohd.com/view/Tj5#c4PP

It took me a lot longer to work out how to use the first site. I don't like how you've separated them into four categories, seems to defeat the purpose of using a dynamic viewer. I also don't like blindly scrolling through photos if I don't know what's coming next or how many there are.

I much prefer the second layout, the page is shorter and everything is on display. I like your illuminating thumbnails. Can you make those start in grey scale too? That might look pretty cool.

I guess I am going to go with the 2nd because it is simpler. I will just organize the photos on it. Thanks for all the comments about the site and my photos. I have only been doing photography for about 8 months so I hope to get better. I really want to do more profile shots. Thanks again everyone.

Sorry for double post but here is the final portfolio. It is simple and straight forward.

I don't like the whizzing effect, makes me kind of dizzy.
The galleries page seems like a waste of time. Is there a way you could switch between galleries while viewing them? That way your site also opens with a nice big picture. Would be much more uniform too.

the quality of the photos are very varied - for example this one here

http://collinanderson.foliohd.com/view/Tj5#c4Qt

is great, in quality

however this one:

http://collinanderson.foliohd.com/view/Tj5#c4PT

is really blurry and not clear at all

.. oh and yea i prefer the second one x)

I am unsure how to change that with the site provider I'm using. I think thats the only choice. Till I actually buy a real domain and purchase the "pro" plan. Thanks for the feedback

Thanks xplosys! And OBese87 that's a nice design. Much more preferable then the plain background... Also the Contact button looks much better. I should figure out how to implement something better like that.
