Hi there,

I've just bought DarkBasic Pro from Amazon (should be waiting for me when I get home). Does anyone know whether the 25 online tutorials for DarkBasic Classic work with DBPro?
If not, does DBPro come with a decent user manual that has tutorials? I've looked at the DBPro tutorials that are available online and there don't seem to be as many available as there are for DBC.

Also, which 3D modeller is most compatible with DarkBasic Pro? By this I mean a model format that will load in meshes, textures and animations to DarkBasic Pro.

Thanks for any info on this. Hopefully be coding like a maniac tonight

Hey there, remember me? ( GabrielKnight74 )

The .x format seems to be the format of choice for models. 3ds crashes violently for me, and I've noticed some bug reports regarding MD3 and MDL too ( they may have been fixed ) and X seems to support everything you really need now anyway.

The manual isn't bad, but it's woefully out of date now, so you'll want the online version for most things. Help is context sensitive so you can get a quick syntax check on any command. It's not too bad to pick up. I think I'd be going along ok if I had more time free. Hope you have your package waiting for you, and you have some fun with it.

Be sure to grab the patches for the compiler and the ide.

Rage_Matrix,

I made the program fixes to let you use the 25 online tutorials Monster Hunt in DBpro. Go to my web page and look under Downloads.

Hello Guyon,

Off topic, can you make some other colour sheme for your website. I have my difficulties to read (blue on black isn't the best choice).
Otherwise thanks for the link and your effort.

Have a nice day,

Tomaz

tomazmb,
I will look into it, I am trying to get the sprite section done. It is very clean on my PC, what is giving you the problem? Is the font too small? Can I send you any info from the page till I resolve this?

Anyone else having problems reading the web page?

Guyon,

Thanks mate I saw your other post about the PDF book alpha version and downloaded the tutorials fixes while I was there. Thanks very much for that! Helps a lot.

Hello,

Guyon

The font size itself and the contrast (blue font on the black backround). I've found a solution: I move a little closer to monitor

tomazmb,

Until I get a chance to check into this problem here is a font size solution for you. If you use Microsoft's IE browser you can use the menu View/Text Size/ -then pick a larger web font-

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks Jaze,
I want to see you write a cool game now.
Soon as I find time, I will be updating more DB tutorials to DBpro.

Rage_Matrix, Jaze, was my web page too hard to read for you? I need to know if I have to stop working on other stuff to fix it now.
Thanks

Guyon,

Yeah I guess the colour scheme is a little dark....it wasn't that hard to read for me, but I can see how it might be. I don't think its that urgent, though.

Hello,

Guyon

Yes it helps. But I would suggest you concentrate on DB Tutorials. You have a good knowledge of Dark Basic and I'm grateful that you share it. Thanks.

Thanks guys.
The text section should be out early next week, and the sprites section will be out before Christmas (I hope)

If you are interested I just wrote a small tutorial on Functions and global valuables in Code Snippets:
