Hey all,
I'm new to the darkBASIC software, but in the first two days of using the trial, am tempted into a purchasing descision. I've had a look around and have seen the darkBASIC software for $20 and the darkBASIC Pro software for $68. I was wondering what the benifits were. to give you an idea of my needs. I'm a 3D Artist who wants to break into the games industry. I've tried OpenGL, as I know some C++, but the bulk of the code and issues with the Dev-C++ complier, I turned to other sources. i had alook for alternatives and some guy recomended the darkBASIC software as it had a Basic like programing style, and was built for the games industry. I'm only interesting in developing simple games, and I have software for 3D Media (Cinema 4D, 3DS Max, Lightwave), and texture making (Photoelements). I dont plan to be a serious user or developer and I only plan to make games for my personal use and possibly friends.
Also I was wondering about exporting media that contains animation. If anyone knows of pLug-ins that have this capability (freeware if possible,) or if any of my 3D programs support animation export. I try to load 3DS models but without any succes so I have to use the Cinema 4D software to convert my 3DS Files to .X.
Last of all, is the claIm that darkBASIC is the "Ulimate Games creator really that realistic"

Thanks
