Ya, I think something was up with my router. After a while it just finally refused internet access to me, but disconnecting and reconnecting solved the issue.

Thraxas, you have now earned your banner ^^ good riddance

Quote: "It seems he never lasts long here when off of moderation, so I'd consider a perma ban to be not such a bad idea. "

I completely agree with this, I could post the last conversation I had with the 'individual' on Skype... but due to the profanity I shall not... but I did save it

Quote: "Well the last email he sent me earned him a perma-ban. "

Just playing catch up Thraxas, and I love how he makes mention of me recently, I am enjoying his publicity I must send him a little prezzie in say another life...

I think on this day the Mods have earned this...

I would love to put more into it but... it is elegant as it is, but if any mods wished I could work on an official new Mod Badge... some have already suggested it recently

Perhaps someone should, you know, fix that so it can't happen anymore :/

It's real simple to fix. One method I just came up with is requiring the correct user ID in the URL. An abuser would then only have a limited attack vector. Perhaps require a user ID and the current time within the last few minutes. Alternatively, require a second confirmation link and on that URL a temporary UUID that is matched to a user's temporary UUID in the database.

Mods are insidious things, they are sub human narcissist control freaks. They were created by the dark wizard Kahuul by accident as he tried to create mindless robots for his plan to take over the word. To create these mindless robots Kahuul captured the souls of many great liberal economists, Adam Smith and Milton Friedman to name but a few, he then took fresh corpses and infused them with the soul via a Soul IV injection (souls are non-polar soluble), but not before he had significantly changed their soul chemistry via a series of reactions. What resulted were the mods as we know them. Being highly intelligent beings they soon formed an alliance, or as they named it "The Tacit Cartel of Evil" or TCE for short, unfortunately due to their altered soul chemistry their memory was terrible, and TCE soon became TGC.

It would seem as though nothing could stop the reign of the mods, until our heroes came along, they called themselves "The Administrators", heading them was Lee Bamber, he realized he could take advantage of the simple mindedness of the mods, he opened up an internet forum sharing the same name as The Tacit Cartel of Evil, "TGC". This confused the mods, they though that he had taken over their cartel of evil, they soon tried to seize the forum. They took the forum, but it was a trap! Lee Bamber had trapped the mods into a purgatory like state of small forum moderation. To this day the wrath of the mods is still contained to the forum they call "TGC"

Mod edit 2: Sorry, wrong button, what I meant to say was "LOL". We aren't really watching you, return to your homes. Nothing to see here.

But that is not so! The Mod intelligence is very calculated, they are in a way like computers, so whilst they have supreme intelligence they can be easily exploited!

A "mod etiquette" puzzle:

If %username% says that %modname% has biggest banhammer among others users on TGC forums, what the result will be?

Scenario 1. %username% will be slapped by a %modname%.
.. a) because it's true?
.. b) because it's false?
.... >> user knows. why he knows?
...... a) because %username% is %modname%?
...... b) because %username% is %anothermod%?
........ >> he are multiple persons. why hiding the truth?
Scenario 2. %username% will be slapped by %anothermod%.
.. a) because mod knows it's true?
.. b) because mod knows it's flase?
.... >> mod knows. why he knows?
...... a) because %modname% is %anothermod%?
...... b) because %username% is %anothermod%?
........ >> he are multiple persons. why hiding the truth?
Scenario 3. He will not be slapped by a mod.
.. a) because they know it's true?
.. b) because they know it's false?
.... >> if it's false, slapping would make it false. why hiding the truth?

Why hiding the truth that all mods are one person?!

The answer to life is not 42, it's pi.

I was talking about this in the MineCraft chat, and I'll repeat it here again. Think about it: The number pi contains a sequence of numbers with a non-reoccurring pattern.

This means that if you were to convert pi into ASCII characters, at some point, the entire Harry Potter series will appear in pi.

Pi has every movie ever created encoded into it. Pi has every picture ever taken encoded into it.

In fact, pi contains everything that was, everything that is, and everything that will be. Pi is the ultimate answer to everything that is.

[EDIT] Damn, I thought this was the posting competition. Sorry!
