Hey. I'm looking to buy a new graphics card in the next couple of days and I think the choice boils down to these two cards:

nVidia Geforce GTX 760 2gb
nVidia Geforce GTX 660 Ti 2gb

Where I'm located they are pretty similarly priced. I've been doing a ton of research and it seems for general stuff the 760 is a little bit better. However it seems that the 660 Ti was geared more towards "shader" work.

With Reloaded on the horizon and from the looks of it Reloaded will use a lot of shaders (correct me if I'm wrong).

With these things in mind, which card would you suggest I get? Am I overthinking the shader thing and should I just get the 760?

Just by the model number, wouldn't the 760 be the newer 660 and thus updated technology? Then again, the Ti model is generally an overclocked version with boosted performance, right?

I'd probably get the 760. While performance appears to be about the same (after looking around the net), the 760's newer architecture makes it more efficient in terms of power/heat.

I would probably also go for the 760, just because it has newer technology and is less likley to be faced out in the future.

Regarding the 760 being the new version of the 660, my guess is that it's more a representation of price. The 760 is a price with similar price to the 660 but with newer technology. It's probably more aparent with the 770 and 780s. The 770 is a 680 with increaced memory bandwidth while the 780 is a Titan with lower memory bandwidth. Pricewise they are the 670 and 680s replacements and they are better than the 6-series counterparts performance wise.

In the case of the 760, I think the 660 has a sligthly faster GPU but the 760 has faster memory.

Buy the new one, because it's newer; anyway you will change it for the new one later.

I just got the 760 superclocked from EVGA. It's a good card so far, and I know it performs better than the 660 ti.

Yes thanks for the advice as I'm also looking for a new graphics card.
