Hello all,

I am happy to announce that after some server difficulties the last few weeks, FPS Files is back online again featuring a small list of media items that can be downloaded from the site.

The site is still being tested and actively developed but I have now made the site live with download functions, basic theme and some navigation.

I will be actively developing the site to bring a great service too you all however up to now progress has been slow due to work.

Hope you enjoy what I have so far and the new more stable servers.

View FPS Files here http://www.fpsfiles.net/

There may be some bugs this system is written from the ground up for this site so may have some little issues I haven't noticed yet.

*Please report any issues with the upload system a number of people have reported issues and as of yet I can't recreate them it may have been the old server.

Bug Reports
- Upload form rejects some submissions with error "Your file failed to be saved to the database please inform admin" [FIXED]

Hey there,

The Next, no problem! For some reason, I get errors when trying to post my grass pack. The archive is slightly bigger than 10MB and doesn't have a bad filename or such.

A generic error: "Your file failed to be saved to the database please inform admin"

By the way, I can change the error message by typing something into the adress bar of my browser. Better store those in a textfile.

Greetings,
Jan

The error messages are strictly informational so there is no security benefit to changing the system I use right now, it was simply the quickest way to provide feedback from the database output. The status that is recorded in the database cannot be altered and is tracked another way. However having said that I do want to tidy up the URL bar so I think I may change this with my next set of updates.

Can you attach your file here and I will try to upload, the new server might be messing about with large files.

Can you also provide what you place in each box so I can recreate exactly what you did, this happened on the last server and I really want to find this fault.

Hey there,

The Next, faster than TGC's servers: http://sector49.pf-control.de/files/grass_pack/download/grass_pack.zip

Screenshot: Attached

Publisher Name: TheK

Email address: sector.49@live.de

Compatible with FPSC X9, X10 and probably Reloaded.

Category: Model Pack

Description: Included are 14 different textures ranging from a few blades of grass to bushes applied on several fitting plane 3D-models. Most of them are designed to be used in devastated environments in which nature has taken over the buildings.
You can use these objects for example where tiles in the floor are missing and grass is growing from under the ground.

Usage: Unpack the archive and copy the two folders into your "Files" folder which is located in your FPS Creator installation
folder. If you are not an FPS Creator user, then just use the media like you would with any other.

Greetings,
Jan

Where I can upload scripts, or is this not allowed?

Make this forum to something a little bit better and release more stuff. So we can push the Request/NoobHelp threads aside.

This time I only got an error message in the address bar...

It appears you may have already trie to upload this file, updates for files are managed seperately. If your last upload failed then try again with a different file name.

Well, should I just try again?

Greetings,
Jan

This is due to the bug your files were still sitting in the approval queue took me a while to track them down and remove as it is all encrypted and hard to work out what files are what without the database.

If you try now it should work [Fingers Crossed], if not then rename your zip and image file names

How large is the file you are uploading? Also what format, normally you get this error if the file you uploaded isn't a zip or is too large.

@The Next.

I'm sure you have already done this, but do you have permission to host all of these? As I'm reasonably sure some of these once had an exclusive distribution deal and at least one was once commercial.

Just checking.

Incidently, you're welcome to host my Health and Safety sign pack from a few years ago. Link here

@Scene Commander
All media on the site has been uploaded by the owner or they have given permission via email or in writing via my other thread for the media to be uploaded on their behalf. That said there is a zero tolerance for media uploaded without the correct permissions so any reports from content owners will result in the media being taken down right away.

@danieleman
I hope it helps as many people out as possible and that will be repayment enough.

I have now put in place the genre system for the site, it has a very limited list right now so ideas for more options would be great.

Other filter options will be coming soon

I was gonna contribute some of my old files I made but you don't have a HUD section on the site.

Thanks all for the support you have given in the 7 or 8 years of FPS-Files.
